Remembering Brother Gord Costello

COSTELLO, Gordon Edward
October 13th, 1929 – May 4th, 2018

We are heartbroken at the passing of our much loved husband, father and poppa on May 4, 2018 in his 89th year. Gordon will be missed every day by his wife of 56 years, Beatrice (Murray) and his daughters, Ann Marie, Cathy (Paul) and Laura (Andrew) and his grandchildren, Katharine, Patrick, Claire, Colin, Lauren, Rudy, Jonah and Clara.  Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Theresa and Daniel Costello, his brothers, Bill, Joe, Bernard, Daniel, Father Jack and his sisters, Mary, Jean, Margaret, Dorothy. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Bridget Malone and Patricia (Doug) McGilvery and sisters-in law, Rose, Erma and Marion and many nieces and nephews.

Gordon was born on October 13, 1929 in Dublin, Ontario. He worked for 38 years with the Ministry of Transportation. Gordon was a natural storyteller, gifted athlete, active gardener, skillful carpenter and competitive bridge player. He was an involved and active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, St. Paul the Apostle Church and most recently St. Joseph’s Church. We have lost a kind, gentle, devoted family man and friend.

Family and friends may call at Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Home, 435 Davis Drive, Kingston on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Palace Road, Kingston on Wednesday, May 9th at 10:00 am. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to Right to Life and Partners in Mission Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Kidd 2 ICU of KGH. You were caring and compassionate and we will be forever grateful.
